Personal Interests
A French major in college, Dr. Polley studied abroad for a year at the University of Paris, Sorbonne. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Houghton College, she planned to work for Wycliffe Bible Translators. However she felt called to medicine and enrolled at the University of Rochester School of Medicine instead.

In 1992, Dr. Polley co-founded Northwest Pediatric Center in Centralia. Dr. Polley is well known in the community for her volunteerism. She has coached youth soccer, led ladies' Bible studies, and remains active in many charitable causes, and is part of her church's youth ministry team. At various times, she has also run the Lewis County Growth Clinic and an Eating Disorders Clinic. In 2009 and 2010, she was honored as Best Physician in the Chronicle's Best of Lewis County Awards.
An outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Polley loves backpacking, hiking, boating, sea kayaking, diving, snow-shoeing, downhill and cross-country skiing, and road cycling. She has summitted some of the Northwest's tallest peaks, including Rainier, Hood, Adams, and Baker, and summitted Africa's Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2004. A seasoned world traveler, she has done medical mission work in Papua New Guinea, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, India, Africa, and China. She has three grown children: Abby, Luke, and Nate.
