Personal Interests Dr. Dalan, a graduate of Sequim High School, joined Northwest Pediatric Center in August 2007. He majored in Biology at the University of Washington, where he was also a 4-year letterman in football, an Academic All-American, and All-Pac 10 Honorable Mention. He was signed by the National Football League’s Oakland Raiders after graduating from college but decided to pursue a career in medicine shortly thereafter.
Dr. Dalan worked for a year as an Exercise Specialist at Olympic Physical Therapy in Seattle before enrolling at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical Honor Society, and awarded the Frederic C. Moll Prize in Pediatrics. Besides general pediatrics, his medical interests include pulmonology and sports medicine. He hopes that his trip to the Dominican Republic with Northwest Pediatric Center in 2007 is the first of many domestic and international mission opportunities in his future.
Dr. Dalan is married with two children, Soren and Julia. He met his wife Gena in Seattle, where they were both athlete-scholars at the University of Washington. Gena is a high school teacher who also coaches several sports. Dr. Dalan's hobbies include recreational team sports and new classic fiction and children's fiction. He and his wife both enjoy hiking and, as UW alumni, they are avid Husky football and basketball fans.
