Behavioral Health

Northwest Pediatric Center offers integrated behavioral health intervention and consultation services within our pediatric primary care practice. Our on-site licensed mental health counselor, Beth Keating, collaborates with our primary care providers to address physical, developmental, social, behavioral and emotional needs. This integrated model acknowledges the role of behavior in medical care and the importance of mental health care in physical well-being.

Physical, emotional, social and spiritual health are deeply intertwined. In order to provide the best quality of care to your child, we coordinate both within our practice and with community providers to address these unique components impacting each patient. Our Behavioral Health Consultants are available to address a wide variety of emotional and behavioral issues including:

  • parenting challenges
  • coping with various stressors (family, peers, school, divorce, loss)
  • ADHD
  • depression
  • anxiety
  • family conflict
  • sleep issues

About Beth Keating, MA, LMHC

Beth graduated from Marylhurst University in Oregon in 2006 with a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy Counseling. Since graduation, she has worked in community behavioral health agencies as well as in a medical practice working with children, adolescents, and families, doing group and individual therapy, family therapy, assessments, and crisis intervention services. Beth has enjoyed working with kids since she started volunteering at summer camps when she was 11 years old. She loves being able to help kids be happier and emotionally healthier so they can be as silly and goofy as she can be!

Beth is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the State of Washington’s Department of Health and is a Child Mental Health Specialist. Although she grew up in Arizona, Beth fell in love with Pacific Northwest after moving here in 2002. When she is not at work, she can be found playing with or snuggling with her cat, Ruby. Otherwise, she loves to be outside sitting in a yard reading, hiking a forest trail, kayaking up a river, or camping next to a lake. She is also a tiny- house-travel-trailer enthusiast.
