Northwest Pediatric Center supports mothers at every point in their breastfeeding experience, from birth through weaning. We are committed to working with all breastfeeding mothers, including those who are fully breastfeeding, partially breastfeeding, supplementing with formula, or for those who are exclusively pumping.
Common concerns we address:
- Slow weight gain
- Latching problems
- Low milk supply
- Pain with nursing
- Mastitis
- Clogged ducts
- Tongue tie
- Pumping
- Jaundice
- Prematurity
In addition to the common concerns listed above, we are available to help with a wide range of breastfeeding concerns, including nursing the infant with special healthcare needs, infants requiring elimination diets, and helping mothers determine if medications are safe to use while nursing. Meet our lactation specialist:
Rebecca Deiss, RN
Rebecca Deiss is a registered nurse and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Before joining the NWPC team, Becca worked as an RN for a private clinic part time, while also working remotely from home as a la leche league leader for five years. She has a passion for breastfeeding and thoroughly enjoys providing support for new moms, both prenatal and postnatal. Being a mom of three herself, Becca understands how tiring breastfeeding can be at first. She believes with the right preparation and support, breastfeeding can be an amazing bonding experience for you and your baby.
On her free days Becca enjoys spending time with her husband, who is also an RN, and their three children. Her hobbies include working out, gardening and training her dogs. She also loves traveling and adventures outdoors.
