Our practice

Well-care appointments

Well-care exams are perhaps the most integral part of pediatrics. During these 20-30 minute appointments, we address concerns about your child’s growth, development, and overall health. Common topics we talk about include toilet training, behavioral challenges, nutrition issues and immunizations. See our recommended schedule for well-care exams.

Well-care appointments are scheduled to specifically address your child’s wellness issues, such as growth, development, sleep, eating, school, safety, hearing, vision, and immunizations. If parents have other, non-wellness related concerns to discuss with the provider, please notify us when you schedule the visit so we can set up an appropriate amount of time to discuss those other concerns.

Remember – Insurance regulations require us to bill separately for anything discussed at a well-child visit that is a distinct and separate health concern from what would normally be addressed at a well-care appointment.

Most insurance plans cover the cost of a basic well-care appointment, meaning the patient’s family pays nothing. If your provider identifies a health or psychological issue that goes beyond what’s part of a normal well-care visit, your insurance plan may not cover these additional costs and you may be responsible for some or all of the additional billing. Call 360-807-1393 if you have questions about your bill or to set up a payment plan.
